About Us

We have over 20 years of experience under the brand name Tropical Hut Philippine Cuisine and established Filipino restaurants throughout New Jersey,  New York, and Pennsylvania. Tropical Hut Express was designed to offer our best sellers. Our Lumpia and BBQ Skewers are among our most popular menu items. All of our menu items can also be purchased as a party tray to cater for your next meeting or event.

Our founder, Leo Alquiros, discovered his love for food at a young age in the Philippines. He used to cook and sell food on the streets of Lucena City. He immigrated to the United States in the early 90s and spent 8 years working in corporate food research. His first catering gig was his daughter’s first birthday. Gaining popularity by word of mouth within the Filipino community, he was able to build his catering experience on a part-time basis. In 1999, Leo’s dream became a reality when he opened his first restaurant, Tropical Hut Philippine Cuisine, in Old Bridge, NJ. Leo believes that food is best enjoyed when shared with others. In his spare time, he enjoys giving back to the community by cooking and distributing free meals in the US and abroad.
